Survey: employees’ opinion of the stability of their workplace has improved
The opinion of Hungarian employees regarding the continuation of their current job has improved since last year, according to the latest joint, representative research by BNP Paribas Cardif Biztosító and Median, which was reported to MTI in a statement on Tuesday.
In the survey conducted in the third quarter of this year, the Labor Market Stability Index of BNP Paribas Cardif recorded a value of 77 points, an increase of 3 points compared to the same period of the previous year.
During the research, 76 percent of Hungarian employees believed that the company where they work – regardless of their own position – will definitely stay for more than 5 years. This is a jump of 7 percentage points compared to the previous year.
The indicator that measures how secure employees feel in their current position within their company has also risen. According to 60 percent of the respondents, their current position will definitely remain for more than 5 years, which is an increase of 6 percentage points compared to the same period of the previous year.
A minor change was measured in the question of how easily people would find a new job matching their qualifications in the event of job loss or termination. The proportion of respondents who believe that it would be difficult or very difficult to find a new job fell from last year’s 21 to 17 percent, while at the same time, the number of those who believe that they would find a new job was not easy, but not difficult, increased from 24 to 33 percent.
According to the announcement, it is a positive development that, compared to last year’s 24 percent, only 21 percent of respondents indicated that their household could survive for less than a month if the main earner lost his job. At the same time, the proportion of those who have enough savings for even 4-6 months increased from 16 to 19 percent.
