Survey: the majority of Hungarians spend less in an inflationary environment
In the current inflationary environment, 80 percent of Hungarians indicated that they spend less to preserve their current financial situation, and consumers will refrain from buying mainly food and hygiene products, the CEO of Magyar Cetelem Bank said in a press conference in Budapest on Wednesday about the results of his customer survey.
Szabó Péter added that more than 1,000 people were included in the survey conducted in the first half of May.
According to him, in addition to curbing spending, 24 percent of Hungarians work more, ie they try to earn extra income in order to maintain their financial situation, but 12 percent of them have already had to reach for their savings. (MTI)
