Boosting tourism at the Lake Velence
The number of guests and overnight stays had been increased in the Central-Transdanubian region, in the first four months of this year. According to the datas of KSH, in the last year in Central Transdanubia the number of guests increased by 1.6 percent
The increase is primarily because of the growing number of domestic visitors with an increase of 9 percent. Horváth András, president of the Regional Tourism Committee told that the regional development council gave most of the support on the development of tourism which played an important role in the growth. As a result of this, new hotels have been built and the region's gastronomy and hotel guide has been published and the tourism professionals of the region are on almost every tourist shows. The occupancy of the wellness hotels has increased significantly, and wine tourism increased also. The biggest growth has been measured in the Lake Velence area. The number of guests increased by 123.7 percent, and the number of overnight stays with 220 percent. The foreign tourists came to that region, mainly from Austria, Germany and Romania – reports Origo.
