The operation of a slaughterhouse in Csongrád-Csanád County was suspended
The operation of a slaughterhouse in Csongrád-Csanád county has been suspended due to serious hygiene problems found during an on-site inspection, the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) informed MTI on Tuesday.
According to the announcement, Nébih conducted an inspection at a slaughterhouse in the Csongrád-Csanád county and the meat shop belonging to it. The inspectors discovered such serious hygiene problems and monitoring deficiencies at the slaughterhouse that its activities were suspended with immediate effect.
When the authority arrived at the scene, a cattle in a bad general condition, unable to stand up on its own, was being transported to the slaughterhouse area with a vehicle not authorized for the transport of animals. The inspectors also found another 26 pigs without the mandatory unique markings at the animal shelter, whose origin could not be verified.
