Beetroot is the base for many special dishes. Its eye-catching colour makes dishes look better, and eating as much as possible is a good idea, thanks to its nutritional value and health benefits.

Beetroot is often called superfood, and in Hungary it is mainly eaten pickled. Beetroot is rich in iron, but it also contains many other minerals such as calcium, phosphorus, potassium, iodine, manganese, magnesium, and vitamins C, K and B. The Hungarian Chamber of Agriculture (NAK) and FruitVeB estimate that beetroot cultivation increased by 49% to 343 hectares between 2021 and 2022. //
