Retail sales growth in the Czech Republic slowed in February
Annual growth in retail sales in the Czech Republic fell to 4.6 percent in February from 9.4 percent in January, the Czech Statistical Office said in Prague on Tuesday.
Last year’s benchmark results were heavily affected by the coronavirus pandemic, which forced a number of stores to close, the agency said. Demand for manufactured goods was higher this year, but online store sales declined. Czech analysts see rising household inflation as a result of rising inflation and the situation is expected to worsen. (Kokes János, MTI)
