In February, industrial production decreased by 1.5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and by 1.8 percent compared to the previous month
In February 2026, the volume of industrial production fell by 1.5 percent compared to a year earlier. The index adjusted for working day effects is the same as the unadjusted one. Based on seasonally and working day adjusted data, industrial output was 1.8 percent lower than in January 2026, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Wednesday, based on its first estimate.
The production volume decreased in most of the manufacturing sub-sectors compared to the same month of the previous year, the report added.
Among the most important sub-sectors, the manufacture of computers, electronics, optical products, and electrical equipment expanded, while there was a decline in vehicle manufacturing and the manufacture of food, beverages, and tobacco products.
In the first two months of the year, industrial production was 2.0 percent lower than in the same period in 2025.
The detailed data on industrial production for February will be published by the Central Statistical Office on April 15, based on its second estimate.
