Fazekas: fish is transported from elsewhere to the restaurants of the Lake Balaton

Few fish are in the Lake Balaton, so fish is transported from elsewhere to the local restaurants – the Minister of Agriculture told M1 news channel on Wednesday.

Fazekas Sándor emphasized that the Fish Farm of the lake was eradicated in 2013. In the last fishing year, 78 tons of fish were caught, of which about 200-220 thousand meals can be prepared.
This amount runs out during a better weekend at the Lake Balaton – the politician said.
He added that overfishing was a serious problem at the Lake Balaton, several years will pass until the lake's regeneration. (MTI)
