FAO: food prices will increase further in January
Instead of the expected loss, global food prices increased by 2 percent in January, compared to the previous month – shows the datas of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), published on Thursday.
The FAO’s food price index – calculated every month on the basis of the price change of cereals, oilseeds, dairy products, meat and sugar – was 214 points in January, four points higher than in December. The index was pulled up by the fact that vegetable oils and cereals became more expensive – reports tozsdeforum.hu.
