FAO Summit in Rome: hunger is the most murderous weapon of mass destruction
The climate summit in Copenhagen in December will be essential in terms of global hunger, since “there is no food security without climate security” – said the UN Secretary-General at FAO's three-day summit.
Sixty countries’ Heads of State and Government took part at the Meeting of The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization in Rome.
The organization's Director-General Jacques Diouf called the Member States to contribute with 30 billion euros per year to the global increase of agricultural production. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva President of Brazil said that hunger is the most murderous weapon of mass destruction – reports profitline.hu.
