FAO: world food prices in January are on the highest level since July 2014
The January price index rose 113.3 points from 107.5 points in December, particularly for grain, sugar and vegetable oils, according to data posted on the FAO website on Thursday.
The FAO Food Price Index is a trade-weighted indicator that takes into account the international market prices of the five most important food commodities – vegetable oils, cereals, meat, dairy products and sugar. (MTI)
