Dominance in ice cream making!
As part of the Gelato Festival World Masters competition series, three domestic competitions have been held in recent years, securing a total of nine Hungarian competitors a place in the European finals held in Bologna at the end of October – the city is the home of the Carpigiani Gelato University.

The Hungarian competitors performed outstandingly in the European final.
The first place went to Dávid Wilheim (Da Crema Ice Cream Parlour, Nagykanizsa) with “Il Re del Piemonte”, while the runner-up was János Somodi (Florida Ice Cream Parloour, Balatonmáriafürdő) with “Torta della nonna”. These two ice cream makers advanced to the world championship finals out of the nine Hungarian competitors. We can look forward to the 2026 world championship final not only with hope, but with realistic chances of winning.
