The main objective of the programme was to educate confectionery students about the mysteries of ice cream making. It was an international event, with not only Hungarian but also Italian and masters taking on the role of mentors. Both the professional team captains and the participating students had a great time. Teams had 100 minutes to make two different ice creams. For each ice cream the competitors drew a mandatory ingredient, which was provided by the gold level sponsors. The “mystery boxes” contained 100% oilseed pastes and pestos.
The competition jury consisted of the members of the Gelato World Cup 2024 bronze medal winner Hungarian team: Renáta Somogyi, ice cream master (Bringatanya, Somogyi ice cream workshop – Gyenesdiás), Sándor Fodor, chef and confectioner (Habcsók Confectionery – Budapest), Krisztián Füredi, confectioner (Hisztéria Confectionery – Tápiószecső), Zoltán Gácsi, creative confectioner (Csokoládé Akadémia – Nagytarcsa). Ice cream master Andrea Koncz (Sissi Artisan Ice Cream Parlour – Gödöllő) and her team won the competition, the runner-up was confectioner Balázs Damniczki (Damniczki Confectionery – Székesfehérvár) and his team, and the bronze medal went to Italian pastry chef and ice cream instructor Alessandro Masia (Carpigiani Gelato University, Bologna) and his team. //
