Gergely Fábián: peace is needed to restore the performance of industry
According to the State Secretary responsible for industrial policy and technology of the Ministry of Economy, peace is needed to restore the performance of industry, the ministry told MTI on Wednesday.
The NGM announced that, based on calendar-adjusted data from the Central Statistical Office, the volume of industrial production decreased by 3.7 percent in June 2024 compared to the same period of the previous year, while a 0.5 percent increase compared to the previous month can be observed.
State Secretary Gergely Fábián, responsible for industrial policy and technology, analyzed the industrial data and highlighted according to the announcement: the fundamentals of the Hungarian economy are stable and strong, this is reflected by the dynamic growth of real wages for 9 months and retail turnover for 6 months, as well as the fact that tourism in the first half of the year It increased by 8 percent compared to last year’s record year.
However, the recovery of industry’s performance continues to be delayed by European foreign markets, especially our most important foreign market, the German economy.
