This year’s harvest depends on this
Grain growers welcome the snow in Transdanubia – agrarszektor.hu wrote. They say if the crops are covered with snow for a few weeks in the second half of January or February, then there is no need to worry about this year’s crop. The mild winter so far has not been favorable, but so far it has not caused irreversible damage to fruit crops either.
Autumn cereal plants need a cooling period of two to three weeks during their development in order for the plants to come to rest, otherwise they will be like grass, they will grow nicely, but they will not bear fruit – Petőházi Tamás told InfoRádió, President of the National Association of Cereal Growers.
