Challenges ahead in 2024 for the Hungarian food industry
2024 is shaping up to be another challenging year for Hungary’s food industry, according to András Benkő, Director of Commerce and Marketing at Kaiser Food.
He noted that low consumer spending, unresolved labor shortages, and fluctuating exchange rates are continuing to impact the industry negatively. Additionally, a declining pig population in Europe suggests that significant reductions in pork prices are unlikely. Despite these challenges, Kaiser Food had a successful year in 2023, thanks to strategic price adjustments and a focus on efficient corporate strategies. Looking ahead, the company plans to continue modernizing its brands and adapting to market conditions to meet consumer demands and navigate the ongoing industry challenges.
