According to recent data from the Central Statistical Office, consumer prices in February 2024 were on average 3.7% higher than a year earlier. In one month, compared to January 2024, consumer prices rose by an average of 0.7%. However, the price of food deserves particular attention, as the increase in the price of certain products can significantly affect the household budget.
Food prices rose by an average of 0.2%, but seasonal foods (potatoes, fresh vegetables, fresh domestic and southern fruit) by 1.1%, chocolate and cocoa by 1.5%, and non-alcoholic soft drinks 1 , rose by 1%. Buffet goods rose in price by 0.7%, pastries by 0.6%, and bread by 0.5%. In contrast, sugar by 3.4%, coffee by 2.0%, eggs by 1.5%, poultry by 1.3%, butter and butter cream and pork by 1.2– They became cheaper by 1.2% and dairy products by 1.1%. It is worth noting that the price of cheese has decreased by 15.6%, which can mean significant savings for cheese consumers.
When consuming cheese, it is worth paying attention to which type you choose and what advantages each type offers. According to Prevention magazine, cheese is an excellent source of protein, calcium, and probiotics, as well as many trace vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin K, potassium, and vitamin A. According to a study, cheese consumption can also be linked to the prevention of dementia.
