This is what will entice Hungarian buyers to buy in September
The daily routine, a new outfit or a good movie are the most helpful in getting back into the swing of things after the summer – shows the online research of Etele Plaza. Most often, an irresistible pair of shoes or jeans can persuade Hungarian buyers to spend more than planned.
After the summer season, it is mainly the discounts and promotions offered by stores that encourage shopping, as well as the programs associated with shopping, such as coffee, going to the cinema or browsing. According to the results of the survey conducted on the occasion of the Etele Feszt, two-thirds of the respondents spend between 20,000 and 100,000 forints on the change of season in September, while every fifth buyer spends even more. The largest expenses are the autumn wardrobe update (57%), the fees for seasonal programs (36%) and the costs associated with the start of school (31%).
Nearly half (46%) of respondents can afford about the same amount for essential expenses, such as clothes, experiences and beauty care, as they did last year. However, a third of them are managing less this year, which is why they are shopping more consciously. If they do make a spontaneous purchase, it is most often an irresistible pair of shoes (36%), jeans or trousers (21%), followed by sweaters (17%), bags (13%) and coats (14%).
“In autumn, customers mostly visit fashion stores, shoe stores, restaurants, cinemas, beauty and food stores, bookstores and stationery stores. According to the survey results, after the summer is over, shoppers mostly target malls because they can find everything in one place, go to the cinema, and also discover new stores, while a pleasant environment awaits them even in bad weather”
– emphasized Dóra Vámosi, asset manager of Etele Plaza. The expert revealed that shopping centers are specifically preparing for the change of season. An example of this is the Etele Feszt, which will take place between September 10 and 14, where Etele Plaza is trying to attract as many customers as possible to the stores with discounts of up to 50 percent and prize draws. A previous, representative study by the mall showed that nearly half of Hungarians use coupons every month, and many save more than 5,000 forints on a single sale. Accordingly, visitors to the Etele Fest can start their shopping with a free coupon booklet available at the Infobar, but they can also redeem the discounts via the Etele App.
