This is the most popular beer skate, but it is only now being cultivated again here
The peanut or American hazelnut (Arachis hypogaea) is popular among beer skaters, but after 70 years it has only just started to be cultivated again in Hungary.
Nowadays, however, its cultivation is experiencing a renaissance. It is already cultivated on 10 hectares in Homokhátság, and the state recognition of the variety candidates announced by Dr. Zoltán Balla has also taken place. With positive mass selection for 2019, he announced three independent varieties for state certification as an individual. The National Food Chain Safety Office was able to perform the economic value measurement at home, but the variety candidates had to be sent to Bulgaria for the DUS inspection. They received the official results last year, all three passed the DUS test, and they also exceeded the standards received from the Bulgarians in the economic value measurement.
