The grape growing area in Hungary has been declining for decades
While according to the latest data published by the Central Statistical Office (KSH), the MTVA Press Archive and the MTI, grapes were grown on 138.5 thousand hectares in Hungary in 1990, this has decreased by more than half by 2020. The biggest decline occurred between 1999 and 2002, when nearly 27 percent of Hungarian vineyards closed in three years. (agrarszerktor.hu)
