Lidl sells 31 million Hungarian wines annually for 13 billion forints
For the sixth time, Lidl Magyarország organized the Lidl Wine Expo Hungary, which was opened by Magyar Levente, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The aim of the Expo – in line with the government’s ambitions – is to promote and support domestic wine exports, which can also provide a solution for domestic wineries in the increasingly difficult foreign market sales. Over the past five years, the company has exported 31 million bottles of wine to foreign markets worth more than 13 billion HUF and has become Hungary’s largest wine exporter by 2019. Summarizing the results, the Deputy Minister emphasized that with this activity, Lidl is the largest retail chain in the food sector.
