The annual market crossed the HUF 21-billion threshold
Chocolate bar retail sales augmented by 4 percent in value last year and surpassed the HUF 21-billion level. Volume sales in December 2009-November 2010 were at the same level as one year before. Stores with a 401-2,500 m² floor space improved their value share in chocolate bar sales from 37 to 39 percent; the channel above 2,500 m² was stable at 30 percent. In the central region (Budapest, Pest County) the market share of chocolate bars (in terms of value) was higher than the numerical proportion of the population.
