Half a million people lose their jobs because of the counterfeiting of fashion items every year
Each year more than half a million people lose their jobs because of fashion forgery that causes approximately 13 trillion HUF damages in the European Union – the National Board Against Counterfeiting (NBAC) drews attention in its communication, which was sent to MTI on Thursday.
According to the information Italy and the United Kingdom are the most affected in fashion forgery.
10 percent of the total annual turnover of fashion items EUR 275 million (HUF 85 thousand billion) is made up by fake fashion goods, garments, shoes, scarves, ties, belts, gloves. In the fashion sector, 3.8 million people are working at 647 thousand enterprises, almost half of these companies are operating in Italy. (MTI)
