They shop 20 million times a year in OMV Spar express stores
In October, it was 10 years since OMV Hungária and SPAR Hungary opened the first OMV Spar express in Budapest, at the filling station on Fehérvári út. There are currently 87 Spar express nationwide in Hungary, and approximately 20 million purchases are made in the stores each year.
On an average day, nearly 70,000 people visit the stores of the OMV Spar express network. Those who come to the filling station typically continue to choose supermarkets in the morning and late afternoon, and a third of them also arrange refueling in addition to quick shopping. The highest traffic is on holidays, when the number of customers increases by up to 30 percent.
Based on sales, the most popular categories are non-alcoholic chilled drinks (especially energy drinks), dairy products and freshly baked baked goods – for example, more than 15 million pieces of Caesar buns were sold in the last ten years. Most of the products were sold at the filling station at the BAH junction in Budapest, in the countryside the wells in Szentendre, Fót, Dunaharaszt and Győr were the most popular. The store network generates almost half of the revenue in Budapest, and a quarter in the big cities in the countryside. In the capital, they have a significant market share, especially in the FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods) categories.
