Ice Cream of the Year 2022
In 2022 the Hungarian Confectioners Guild organised its very popular Ice Cream of the Year competition for the 25th time, the final of which took place in mid-July.
This contest seeks to promote traditional, high quality artisan ice creams. Once again ice creams made without added sugar, gluten, lactose and milk protein competed in the free-from category.

The final was held in the headquarter of the Guild
There were 74 competition entries in four categories. In the artisan category 12 ice creams qualified for the final, which confectioners had to prepare in front of the jury’s watching eyes.

In four categories altogether 74 ice creams were entered for the competition
As for the category of ice cream ingredient makers and distributors, 27 ice creams were competing. Zila Coffee House – Krisztina Confectionery hosted the final, the award ceremony and the following press conference.

The challenge cup was awarded to Norbert Dobó for his creation “Blonde Gerbeaud”

Free-from category – confectioneries, artisan ice cream parlours: Black Tea with Plum by Dávid Wilheim – Pingvin Ice Cream Parlour and Confectionery, Balatonmáriafürdő
“C” category – ice cream ingredient manufacturers and distributors: Almond and Plum with Crispy Granola by Attila Rétfalvi – Master Martini Kft.
“C/Free-from” category – ice cream ingredient manufacturers and distributors: Poppy Seed Ice Cream with Redcurrant by Róbert Cseri – KEN Carpathia Kft. //
