Bejgli of the year competition
For the third time this year, the Hungarian Confectionery Industry Association announced the Bejglije of the Year competition for pastry shops, restaurants and artisan bakeries.
In addition to the popular professional competitions of the Ipartestület – the Ice Cream of the Year and Hungary’s Cake competitions – the purpose of this competition is to draw attention to holiday cakes made from excellent ingredients and to popularize handmade bagels among consumers looking for real quality.
Confectioneries could enter the competition with products that comply with the provisions of the Hungarian Food Code No. 1-3/16-1, since the bagel is a “protected” product in the Hungarian Food Code, which was also initiated by the Industry Council.
