Eurostat halved the number of tourist nights in the EU last year
The number of guest nights spent in tourist accommodation in the European Union fell to 1.4 billion last year due to the coronavirus pandemic, which is a 52 percent decline from a year before – according to a report released by the European Union’s Luxembourg-based statistics office on Monday.
According to the summary of Eurostat, in 2020, tourism was one of the sectors that was most affected by the coronavirus pandemic, mainly due to travel restrictions introduced to curb the pandemic. (MTI)
