European Commission: 99 percent of intervention stocks of skimmed milk powder are sold out
In the latest tender-based sales, 18,514 tonnes of skimmed-milk powder was sold by the European Commission through public intervention which is 99 percent of the stocks – Phil Hogan, Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development announced on Thursday.
Between 2015 and 2017, the European Commission purchased a total of 380 thousand tonnes of skimmed milk powder under public intervention to stabilize the market and support farmers’ incomes. From the end of 2016, the Committee has gradually launched this product into the market with a series of monthly, and then two-month, public tenders. (MTI)
