Europe’s best marketing specialist: Hungarian victory in the prestigious international competition
Zsófia Bánhegyi, Vice President of Corporate Relations of the Hungarian Marketing Confederation and former Commercial Director of Szerencsejáték Zrt., has won the title of European Marketer of the Year 2025, announced the European Marketing Confederation (EMC), the top European organization of the marketing profession. The award was presented on May 22 in Dublin, at the Marketing Institute of Ireland awards ceremony.
EMC member organizations nominated national winners for the competition, from which the eight best finalists were selected based on interviews. The jury unanimously awarded the first place to the Hungarian entrant, who was followed on the podium by Rafael Fernandez (Telefónica, Spain) and Giuseppe Fiordispina (SEAT Deutschland, Germany). “Zsófia’s exceptional leadership qualities, her dedicated contribution to the profession and her impressive business results all contributed to our decision,” said Martin Huisman, Chairman of the Jury.
“It is a special pleasure that I can represent not only Hungary, but also female leaders with this award. I believe that our role in the marketing and economic sphere can be further strengthened,” said Zsófia Bánhegyi. She began her professional career as an intern at Nestlé Hungary, later working in management positions at Magyar Telekom and Szerencsejáték Zrt. She is currently actively involved in community building and international representation of the Hungarian marketing profession as the vice president of MMSZ.
According to Ferenc Hinora, the newly re-elected president of the Hungarian Marketing Association, this success goes beyond individual achievement: “The award not only crowns Zsófia Bánhegyi’s professional career, but also means recognition of the entire Hungarian marketing community. Part of our strategy is to bring home quality foreign knowledge and show the world Hungarian expertise.”
The European Marketer of the Year award aims to highlight and recognize professionals who make a significant contribution to the development of their companies, industries and the European economy. Zsófia Bánhegyi’s victory sends a clear message: Hungarian marketing is competitive on an international level and is an exemplary player in the European professional community.
