VAT fraud is Europe’s third biggest problem
Three quarters of European think that fighting VAT fraud is the third most important priority for the European Union, right after battling terrorism and reducing the level of unemployment – revealed a survey conducted by Eurobarometer. According to the study, Hungarians share this view, too. Roberto Gualtieri, chairman of the European Parliament’s (EP) Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs opines that the EP is leading the way in this field, having made many recommendations for more transparency in financial matters and for ending tax avoidance.
