EU: the indication of expiry date may change
The European Union would terminate the mandatory marking of the durability of different types of food products. The two state argue that this would significantly reduce food waste.
The idea comes from the Dutch Minister for Agriculture, who expects tens of millions of tons of non-perishable foods to be saved from thrown into the trasher, because there is an expiration date on the packaging. The Dutch-Swedish initiative proposes to terminate the compulsory indication of the minimum durability in case of certain food products. (hirado.hu, MR/180perc)
