LG presented a restaurant server robot
LG Electronics (LG) presented its latest intelligent server robot. The CLOi ServeBot (model LDLTR30) is suitable for any service activity, including restaurant serving. The LG CLOi ServeBot, which is fast and stable, works independently, and comes with a new design. It moves smoothly on various types of floor coverings, and in addition to serving, it is also capable of guiding guests around the room with its instructions, so employees have more time for more important tasks.
LG CLOi ServeBot was first introduced in early 2020: the robot is designed to assist guests in public places such as restaurants, hospitals and office buildings without personal human interaction, performing a customer service function. With six wheels and independent suspension, the latest version is even smoother and is now able to drive stably on different types of floor coverings, such as carpet and Braille routes. The robot’s orientation is aided by a 3D camera and a laser-based remote sensing (LiDAR) system, thanks to which the CLOi ServeBot safely delivers drinks and food – including soups – even when it is traveling on sloping surfaces. With advanced technologies built into the robot, the CLOi ServeBot smoothly navigates through obstacles, guaranteeing that nothing of the valuable shipment is wasted.
The new LG CLOi ServeBoton has four easily accessible 53 x 43 cm shelves, one of which can also be used as a drawer. These shelves are all removable and can be conveniently moved up or down. In addition, there are pockets, cup holders and a lower drawer on the device, where you can place napkins and cutlery, for example. The robot can transport a total weight of up to 40 kilograms.
