Food from the glass palace kitchen – Picture of the day
Eriko Kobayashi’s incredibly lifelike sculptures of fried eggs, bacon and gummy bears are made of the kind of material that people would not like to bite into: glass. The Seattle-based artist’s hyperrealistic works examine our relationship to routine meals and comfort food. “I believe that we make decisions about our clothes, food, and daily necessities based on a sense of intimacy and sympathy with the products,” Kobayashi admits.
