In Berlin, in the presence of around 500 guests, Erwin Müller, the founder of Müller Holding, received the highest honor of the German food and consumer goods industry, the “Goldener Zuckerhut” award. The prestigious recognition honors Müller’s outstanding entrepreneurial performance and revolutionary impact on retail.
On November 11, 2024, Berlin hosted the prestigious award ceremony where Erwin Müller, the founder of Müller Holding, was awarded the “Goldener Zuckerhut” for the second time. The award, which is given to the most prominent players in the German food industry, honors Müller’s unprecedented entrepreneurial career and his contribution to the sustainable development of downtown retail.
Müller, who already received the title of “Entrepreneur of the Year” in 1998, has now joined the elite circle of honorees who can claim both accolades. In his speech, Christoph Werner, the managing director of the dm drugstore chain, emphasized Müller’s innovative approach and his ability to breathe new life into downtowns after the decline of traditional department stores.
“Müller reshaped downtown retail with a product offering and sales strategy that is still highly relevant and economically sustainable today,” said Werner, who believes that Müller sets an example for modern entrepreneurs.
