The NAK received WHO’s classification uncomprehendingly
The National Association of Agricultural Economics (NAK) received the International Agency for Research on Cancer’s (IARC) and WHO’s classification uncomprehendingly, which assessed the meat products as carcinogenic risky. The consumption of red meat was classified by the agency as “probably carcinogenic” on the basis of “limited indications”.
The IARC published the new classifications in the Lancet Oncology official journal. However, after the red meat has nutritious effects, the study entrusted the national governments and international regulatory agencies to publish studies on risks and benefits.
The National Association of Agricultural Economics, as well as the European meat trade organizations considers it inappropriate that increased carcinogenicity effect attributed to a single factor or a single food product group.
