Household chemicals and cosmetics: value sales up, volume sales down
2013 brought a HUF 310-billion turnover in household chemicals and cosmetics retail. Sales were up 1 percent in terms of value but they dropped 3 percent in terms of volume. Fabric softener and toothpaste sales rose by 4 percent each. Detergent and washing-up liquid sales increased by 3-3 percent. Household chemicals and cosmetics sales are still concentrated to stores with a floor space above 400m² and to drugstores: the two channels had a combined share of 86 percent from value sales last year.
