A stabilized market of cosmetics and household chemicals
The market for cosmetics and household chemical products stabilized. Retail trade turnover reached about 300 billion HUF last year, similarly to the results of the previous year. Plus 1 percent in terms of volume was registered by market research company Nielsen Retail Index.
“Among the twenty largest selling categories of chemicals, the volume and value of toilet paper, detergents, paper handkerchiefs, facial and eyewrinke creams moreover kitchen cloths increased from one year to the other” – Ágnes Villányi, director of Nielsen commercial relations pointed out.
The positions of drogeries is getting better and better: turnover value increased by 4 percent, while volumes rose 5 percent last year, as compared to the previous years.
At the same time, customers prefer large outlets: obtaining chemical products is a lot more concentraded than food, 38 percent of customers opt for hypermarkets.
