Food-retailing grew by four percent both in value and volume
Food retail trade achieved a turnover of around 1,540 billion HUF between December 2014, and November 2015 in the ninety product categories measured by Nielsen; 4 percent more than during the same period of the previous year. In terms of volume retail sales rose by 4 percent – the Retail Index of the Nielsen consumer information and knowledge services company reveals among others.
“Turnover previously concentrated towards the stores with high sales space, while this process has stopped in recent years. The market share of stores larger than 400 square meters is still 66 percent as in the previous year “- Szűcs-Villányi Ágnes, department head of Nielsen said.
