Consumer spending in the United States rose sharply in July
Consumer spending in the United States rose sharply in July, which may ease the fears of a recession in the financial markets, but consumption growth is unlikely to be sustained by weak income growth.
The Washington Department of Commerce announced on Friday that in July, consumer spending increased by 0.6 percent while personal income increased by 0.1 percent.
