Forint strengthened on Monday
On Monday, the forint strengthened against the main currencies, while against the euro it only strengthened by 0.1 percent, and against the dollar and the Swiss franc both by 0.8 percent.
After 400.83 forints in the early morning, the euro was quoted at 400.45 forints at six o’clock in the afternoon. The dollar was quoted from HUF 397.35 to HUF 394.04, and the Swiss franc from HUF 407.04 to HUF 403.63.
Compared to the beginning of the previous week, the forint was 0.1 percent weaker against the euro, 2.8 percent weaker against the dollar and 1.0 percent weaker against the Swiss franc.
Since the beginning of the year, the euro, the dollar and the Swiss franc have strengthened against the forint, respectively by 8.5 percent, 21.3 percent and 13.3 percent.
