Drugstores improve their position
The market of hand and body care lotions is approaching HUF 8 billion in value. The Retail Index of ACNielsen shows moderate expansion last year with growth of 1 per cent for both body lotions and hand creams. Drugstores increased their market share by 4 per cent both in terms of value and quantity last year. The market share of the 401-2500 square meter segment showed the biggest decrease. Large size flasks accounted for the biggest part of sales – 39 per cent – in terms of quantity among body lotions, whereas the biggest value of sales was generated by 201-250 millilitre products. Large size hand care products accounted for 43 per cent of the total volume sold, but their market share fell by 5 per cent. Last year, the average prices of body lotions grew by 3 per cent, while those of hand care products by 5 per cent compared to a year before.
