There is a growing demand for homemade pálinka
Initiatives to produce certain quantities of concentrated beverages exempt from tax could be on the agenda again in the relevant forums of the European Union – Tállai András, Minister of State of the Ministry of Finance (PM) said, adding that such proposals are always supported by the Hungarian government.
Under current rules, since 2016, only those who have previously purchased a distillery ticket can legally produce pálinka at home with the notified device. The ticket costs seven hundred forints and entitles the person to make one liter of concentrated drink. (MTI)
