Stronger consumer demand for quality food products
The demand for high-quality, healthy products is becaoming stronger with conscious consumer behavior – said Helik Ferenc, head of the Board of Directors of the priority issues at the National Food Chain Safety Office (NÉBIH) on Tuesday in Budapest at the “Quality for conscious customers” professional conference of Napi Gazdaság.
He stressed that the manufacturers expect the authority to help companies with more effective checks against the illegal food chain.
He said that NÉBI’s board of directors of priority issues in the past two years carried out 674 checks, and have taken action in relation to 5500 tonnes of products, 2000tonnes of goods were withdrawn from circulation and imposed 530 million HUFfines of which 85 percent has flowbn into the central budget.
