Paying the bill to a robot
As part of a pilot project by Pizza Hut Asia, a robot called Pepper – developed by Softbank Robotics – welcomes guests in restaurants and takes the order. It is a humanoid robot that can respond to customers with some emotional intelligence. One of Pepper’s features is a payment app developed by MasterCard, which is based on the company’s MasterPass digital wallet solution.
