Zoltán Erhardt won the Guest of the Year award in 2023
The membership of the Magyar Vendéglátók Ipartestülete (MVI) awarded the Restaurant of the Year award in 2023 to Zoltán Erhardt, the owner of Erhardt Étterem, Panzió és Kézműves Pékség in Sopron.
Zoltán Erhardt is a believer in continuous renewal. The strength with which he moves on in everyday life is nourished by his family roots. The cuisine of his rural restaurant is characterized by regional flavors and popular Hungarian dishes, which are prepared using modern kitchen technology and according to traditional recipes.
Owner of the Alpokalja-Fertő-táj Trademark. The products of the region’s producers – jams, syrups, wines, cheeses – are not only featured in the dishes on the menu, but are gladly recommended and sold in the first artisan bakery opened in the city.
He is as proud of his almost 20-year-old regular clientele as his colleagues. He sees the key to success in honest ingredients and good teamwork.
During his professional journey, he first fell under the spell of wine and then sourdough. First, he became an official wine critic and wine expert, and then he also acquired a profession as a baker. Member of the Hungarian Handcrafted Bread Association since 2021.
