Medals at the 42nd National Wine Competition
Winemakers can turn the results and professional glory achieved at the National Wine Competition into business success, stated Zsolt Feldman, the State Secretary for Agriculture and Rural Development of the Ministry of Agriculture, at the ceremonial announcement of the results of the competition on Thursday.
The recognition informs the consumer, motivates the winemaker and raises the prestige of the diverse Hungarian wine, thus strengthening the entire wine industry – said the state secretary at the award ceremony. In his welcoming speech, the state secretary expressed the message to the National Council of Mountain Communities, which is in need of renewal, that they are strategic partners of the agricultural administration. He considered it important to emphasize that in the current, more difficult period within the organization, it is necessary to find a common denominator in all important matters, since the sector can only be successful if this is achieved.
With the professional organization of the HNT national wine competition, it ensures the credibility of the winemakers’ achievements here
The selected, exceptionally good wines are an important basis for the HUF 2.5 billion promotional tender provided by the Ministry of Agriculture from the Rural Development Program, as a result of which the Hungarian wine industry can show consumers all the value that the 22 Hungarian wine regions hide, said Zsolt Feldman. A record number of 252 wineries entered the 42nd National Wine Competition with 918 items. The special award for the most successful winemaking went to Villány winemaker Zsolt Maul, who won six gold medals.
