The IKEA Group bought forests in Romania
The IKEA Swedish furniture producer and retailer group bought 33,600 hectares of forests in Romania, thus consolidating its investments in the country. The acquired woodlands are mainly located in central and north-eastern Romania.
”Through this purchase, Romania becomes the first country in which IKEA Group will manage its own forestry operations and we plan to be an example of sustainable management of forests,” IRI Investments Romania Chairman of the Board Frederik de Jong stated. (Gazda Árpád, MTI)
