Equilor: 3.1 percent GDP growth for this year and 2.7 percent GDP growth for the next year
The Equilor Befektetési Zrt. investment company amended this year's gross domestic product (GDP) growth forecast upwards, from 2.7 percent to 3.1 percent for this year. The company expects a 2.7 percent GDP growth for the next year – the Equilor Befektetési Zrt. told MTI on Tuesday.
The Equilor explains that the first third of 2015 brought a serious catch-up rally in Hungary: the strengthening of the forint and the increase of shares on the stock exchange were driven by several factors. The easing of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine was a positive development, as well as the indirect effect of the steps of the European Central Bank (ECB), the yield hunger in the zero interest rate environment in Europe, the expectations of Hungary to be upgraded and the higher GDP growth.
