MEPs would make the indication of origin on milk and meat products mandatory
The Members of the European Parliament (EP) in their non-binding resolution adopted on Thursday's plenary session suggested that the dairy and meat product labels should show the country of origin.
The MEPs said that the mandatory and uniform indication of the place of origin on dairy and meat products wpould make the food supply chain more transparent, which would strengthen consumer confidence as well. (MTI)
