Energy-saving salami ripening cells at Kométa
Six new salami ripening cells were installed beside the existing 24, at the Kaposvár plant of the Kométa ’99 Zrt.. The total base area therefore increased by 30 percent, each of the new cells mean a 25 tonnes increase in capacity.
Beside the installation of the new cells, energy supply has been changed in the whole area of the salami ripening plant. Hot water is heated up by the excess heat, so the heating-cooling cycle operates in a closed system, which is extremely energy efficient. The ripening process became more efficient and more environmentally friendly, due to the new heating / cooling system.
